Programmes
We offer comprehensive programmes of CPD to support your staff in promoting mental and emotional wellbeing in school. Our CPD practitioners are trained primary teachers with extensive experience working in schools, meaning we understand the unique opportunities and challenges it presents.
Recreate-U’s CPD sessions enable staff to deliver the CalmSchools programme themselves, promoting staff wellbeing as well as equipping staff with tools and techniques to make their classrooms wellbeing-friendly spaces. We will explain the scientific and neurological basis of wellbeing.
Recreate-U will train your staff to link sessions on emotional wellbeing to current curriculum topics ensuring that these cover areas of the PSHE curriculum.
Benefit:
After our sessions, school staff have an improved understanding of the importance of wellbeing in making their classroom and whole school an emotionally healthy environment. Participants are shown strategies to help increase their own and their students’ wellbeing. Staff will have the opportunity to build their own toolbox of strategies to improve and maintain good mental health. They will have hands-on opportunities to learn how to link current learning topics in the classroom to the strategies we teach. Improved concentration, mood and self-esteem among staff and students leads to a happier, more positive learning environment and better opportunities for learning.
Impact:
Staff feel empowered and confident in helping children learn about their emotions and mental wellbeing. Staff and children are calmer and more aware of their emotions, leading to better learning outcomes. Children in classrooms where staff use these techniques enjoy a better learning environment and see school as a positive experience, leading to stronger engagement and an improved attitude to learning.

We also offer the opportunity to work with Recreate-U as a volunteer delivering one of our tutoring packages to children in need. These children benefit from having a mentor and experienced teacher/trainee teacher to work with them on a series of 6 lessons focused on improving their basic skills.
