Workshops

WORKSHOPS

Recreate-U develop and deliver a variety of programmes for the benefit of the whole community. These programmes include our self-development ‘learn and grow’ classes. These focus on a variety of areas, such as increasing motivation, improving self esteem, learning new skills and developing increased community cohesion.

Programmes

The workshops help to deliver practical, achievable steps and goals for each attendee. Dependant upon which programme is being delivered, we aim to help attendees:

  • Develop stress management techniques
  • Build on their knowledge and awareness of how using mindfulness strategies can impact and improve many areas of their lives
  • Learn a new skill; ‘learn and grow’ programmes focus on helping each and every attendee achieve their individual and collective target goals

Further workshop programmes we have designed include our:

  • “Reconnect with nature” guided walks
  •  5 Ways to Wellbeing workshop
  • Community Language courses
  • Beginners knitting community workshops
  • Gardening events at a variety of local community garden centres, such as Plattfields Community Market Garden

Benefit:

Specific community cohesion events such as those listed above all aim to build a strong community bond with participants. Through attending and actively taking part in a Recreate-U workshop, we are helping attendees to raise awareness and understanding of their local community’s needs and how they can help. We are fostering an increased awareness of the importance of being an active participant of your local community. Our main ambition through these events is to assist in building an ecosystem of support and growing networks and connections from every area of our society in an inclusive and supportive framework.

Cost:
Our community workshops will be free of charge to all attendees wherever possible. Subsidised through our grant funding received, and if necessary on a minimal number of courses which have heavy overhead costs, a greatly reduced fee for costs of the materials subsidised again through our funding.
