Each client has a bespoke experience with us. A massive part of supporting the child is also supporting the parent. Whether it's teaching mum how to effectively homeschool, communicating with school or adding relaxation techniques in to the lessons, we go the extra mile.
Hear from the wonderful Donna who has shared her and her daughter's experience with us so far.
Donna and Charlena's Journey
"Due to a number of reasons in 2020, I looked into some sort of home tuition for my 6-year-old daughter, Charlena and came across Recreate-U.......... I’m so glad I did! I contacted them via a message and they quickly got back to me, then they followed up with an hour’s phone call to see how they could help. I spoke to a lovely lady called Claire who has since gone on to be Charlena’s personal online tutor.
Both Charlena and myself have a rare blood disorder and because of COVID 19 have spent from the end of February 2020 shielding. Charlena briefly went back to school in September but 4 weeks later I became poorly and didn’t want to risk illness coming home from school then 2 weeks later another National Lockdown followed. A decision was made and Charlena is now home schooling full-time possibly until she gets a vaccine. This is to protect us both.
During the first lockdown I home schooled alone then from the second lockdown Charlena started having 3 one-hour sessions online with Claire a week. I must admit the first couple of times I stayed very nearby listening to how it was going. It was so lovely to hear Charlena learning but also enjoying herself. I had the biggest smile on my face. Claire blew me away with how quickly she connected with Charlena as she can be a very nervous child.
Pressure lifted from my shoulders as I knew how valuable this was going to be. Claire has also spoken to Charlena’s school teacher to find out where her strengths and weaknesses lie and what areas she would benefit getting help with. Charlena loves reading and even more so now she gets to read to beautiful Betsy, the Recreate-U dog who sits on Claire’s knee.
Claire sets out her sessions all safely for us via Zoom (whilst we are all in the middle of a pandemic.) Charlena sees her work on screen alongside Claire and works through reading and answering questions. She also does written work alongside during her session. Charlena has made massive improvement with her Maths since Recreate-U have supported her.
Also, Claire has even got my very energetic 6-year-old to learn massage and relaxation which she loves to do before bedtime. Charlena loves her lessons with Claire and loves to tell her all her exciting news.
For myself, it helps massively. Claire is so supportive with me also. She works with us as a team. I feel less pressure knowing Charlena is getting focussed tuition. Whilst she is not in school, it really helps that she is still getting a teacher that she can speak to and with it obviously being less time than what she gets in a classroom, it helps that it is one to one. I still do home schooling with Charlena but for a few hours a week I get peace of mind she is getting professional tuition. One of the most useful things for me is that I get to learn the correct ways of methods used to teach Charlena which I worried about. I didn’t want to confuse Charlena when she eventually does return to school by teaching her wrong methods.
I highly recommend Recreate-U. Charlena will still be continuing with her tutoring when she returns to school and throughout her school years as it helps so much.
