BLOSSOM
Outdoor Social and Emotional Learning Programme
Supporting children to grow in confidence, resilience, and wellbeing through nature-based learning.
Blossom is Recreate‑U’s education-led outdoor programme for primary-aged children, combining wellbeing, learning, and nature to support positive mental health and engagement in school.
Through a carefully guided journey, children take part in small-group sessions that nurture emotional development, build confidence, and help them reconnect with learning in a calm, supportive environment.
For Schools
Blossom offers a professional, structured intervention that supports children’s social, emotional, and mental health alongside the curriculum.
Delivered in small groups, content and activities are tailored so that each session is bespoke to children’s needs and supported by school staff to ensure consistency and impact.
Over 6 sessions, children:
- Build self-awareness and emotional regulation
- Develop confidence, communication, and relationships
- Improve focus, engagement, and readiness to learn
- Strengthen their sense of belonging and wellbeing
What Makes Blossom Unique
Blossom blends learning and growth with hands-on outdoor experiences, creating meaningful engagement for children who may struggle in the classroom.
Sessions include:
- Planting, growing, and harvesting
- Allotment care and teamwork
- Cooking and tasting fresh produce
- Learning about emotions and the brain
- Nature-based mindfulness and reflection
Each session is designed to support children to learn, grow, and succeed at their own pace, building skills they carry back into school and everyday life.
Recreate-U's Blossom integrates PSHE, mental health education, and experiential learning, aligned with whole-school wellbeing and SEMH priorities.
