NATURE AND NATTER
at the RHS Bridgewater

Adult gardening for wellbeing sessions

Recreate-U's Nature and Natter community gardening sessions for adults take place in the RHS Bridgewater’s Community Grow garden. We work closely with RHS staff and volunteers to learn about growing our own healthy fruit and vegetables using organic gardening techniques.

Participants at Nature and Natter are involved in every stage of growing, from deciding what we want to plant and where, to sowing, planting, harvesting and learning new ways to cook what we have grown.

Sessions also provide chances to spend time outdoors in nature in the beautiful surroundings of the RHS Bridgewater, get active walking, planting and digging, try out nature-based crafts and make new friends among the group.

Offshoot Photography Project

OFFSHOOT is a collaboration between University of Salford Art Collection, RHS Garden Bridgewater and Open Eye Gallery, which will culminate in special exhibitions next year. It will also be part of Open Eye Gallery’s LOOK Climate Lab and Photo Biennial 2026.

This meant that throughout 2025, socially engaged photographer Anoosh Ariamehr spent almost a year attending Recreate-U's Nature and Natter sessions - getting to know our participants, learning their stories and capturing their hard work on camera as well as teaching them photography skills, empowering them to d express their personal journeys through the lens.

An exhibition of the work they created went up in the OpenEye Gallery in January 2026, and has now been put on display in the RHS Bridgewater's Community Grow area, enabling them to share their stories of growth and resilience with RHS Bridgewater members and visitors.
